Tryston was born in Durban and his love for the sea has followed him as he moved to different coastal cities growing up. His passion for sailing began with his first cruise on a yacht in Zanzibar 2016, shortly after he did his Day Skippers in Durban and slowly worked his way up to his offshore skippers in 2019.

After his first ocean crossing, a season in the Mediterranean and a brief covid lockdown he started working at the same school where he completed his sailing courses Atlantic Yachting. His passion for instructing and sailing continues to grow.
