SAMSA Short Range Certificate

Why should i do this course?

SAMSA requires that all candidates successfully complete a SAMSA SRC course with an accredited school to gain access to the exam.

The SAMSA SRC syllabus is internationally recognised by the maritime community and authorities.

Pre-course reading

Upon confirmation of booking, the pre-course reading material will be emailed to you.

What to bring

  • 3 x Colour ID photos *white background and no glasses to be worn*
  • Certified Copy of ID/Passport document *not older than 3 months | no copies of copies or e-mailed copies accepted*

Once you have successfully completed the course and exam:

Please note that only the course completion certificate is issued by Atlantic Yachting. This is not a Certificate of Competence. The course completion certificate is merely proof that the candidate has successfully completed the SAMSA SRC course and is able to attend the SAMSA SRC exam with external SAMSA assessor.

SAMSA will issue the candidate with an interim certificate of pass upon confirmation of pass, after which all relevant paperwork and applications will be sent to SAMSA Pretoria where the original SAMSA SRC CoC will be issued.

The original is forwarded from SAMSA Pretoria to the SAMSA office where you completed your exam.

Atlantic Yachting will contact you once the original certificate is available for collection at our offices.

Please allow for at least 6 months for the original certificate to be issued.

What if i fail?

If you do not successfully pass the SAMSA SRC examination, you will be required to rewrite the exam at a cost involved.

You will not be required to re-do the course unless specifically recommended to do so by the external assessor.

Rewrite subject to availability of external examiner.
