This course is presented in Cape Town over a period of 10 days starting on a Friday through to following week Sunday.
Who is it for?
This course is essential for any crew wishing to work on a commercially registered yacht.
No matter what level you enter into the Industry you must have this qualification.
Ability after course
You are not guaranteed work overseas with only a STCW 2010 qualification. Due to the vast amount of qualified people already looking for work, we would highly recommend that you combine the STCW 2010 with a RYA/MCA approved course i.e. Day Skipper or Yachtmaster Offshore, RYA Power Boat Level II or Stewardess Training. You will find it difficult to obtain a job in yachting without training relevant to the industry. Essential safety and departmental training for new crew will not only make you a more useful team member when employed but will also make your CV more attractive when job hunting.
STCW 2010 Certificates for Elementary First Aid, Marine Fire Fighting, PSSR + PST, CSA
The following topics are included in the training:
- Elementary First Aid at Sea (2 days)
- Marine Fire Fighting (3 days)
- PSSR + PST (4 days)
- Competence in Security Awareness (1 day)
