We are an RYA Accredited Sailing School (Royal Yachting Association) and an Authorised Agency of SAS (South African Sailing). As such we can assist you in obtaining any of the international certificates accredited by the RYA and endorsed by the MCA, as well as any of the local certificates accredited by SAS. Both the RYA and SAS inspect us annually to ensure compliance with their stringent standards.
Atlantic Yachting Sailing School owns four L34 mono hull yachts. The yachts and our office where the training takes place are based in Club Mykonos Private Resort in Langebaan, near Cape Town. All yachts are equipped and maintained to comply with the stringent standards of the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) and SAS (South African Sailing) as well as SAMSA’s (South African Marine Safety Authority) Code of Practice for sail training yachts.
Our enthusiastic instructors are professional, experienced and able to impart their knowledge in an easily understandable manner to students. As a result we have one of the highest exam pass rates in the country.

Langebaan Lagoon offers the only RYA approved sailing examination waters in South Africa. The lagoon is the perfect sail training playground, with tides, streams, commercial traffic, calm and rough seas to provide for all training requirements. Our location puts you in the ideal position to do your training on the same waters which you are going to be examined on.

Adrian Ceruti – Principal and Co-owner – RYA and SAS/SAMSA approved
|Adrian has over 12 years’ international experience in the mega yacht industry. He has skippered and crewed on both sailing and motor yachts ranging from 47ft to 200ft. In addition he has extensive teaching experience on the Langebaan Lagoon and Atlantic Ocean. He is a RYA Yacht Master Instructor and also acts as one of the small handful RYA Examiners in South Africa. More recently Adrian qualified as a RYA Cruising Instructor, trainer, again only a few selected in the world.Adrian’s teaching skills and knowledge are imperative to the smooth operations of the instructors and staff. Adrian has always ensured that the yachts are maintained to a very high standard, which has certainly been a massive part of the growing of Atlantic Yachting.|
Hayley Ceruti – Head of Marketing and Co-owner
|Hayley has 8 years’ international experience in the Mega Yacht Industry which includes working as a stewardess catering for the rich and famous. She already has 2 ocean crossings to her name and is a competent sailor in her own right. She has 8 years’ experience in guiding students to make the most suitable sailing course choice and can provide invaluable information for crew wanting to enter the Mega Yacht Industry.Hayley overlooks the marketing of Atlantic Yachting and is instrumental in managing the “team” to ensure constant quality of our product.|

Juanita Vietri – Sales & Bookings
|Juanita was born in Madrid Spain and lived as a young girl with her parents in Italy, Holland and South America. She spent many holidays exploring the Greek Islands, enjoying skiing in Switzerland and visiting the many restaurants in Sicily. Headed back to beautiful Cape Town at the age of 14 where her father became a Captain in the S.A Navy based in Simonstown. Juanita comes from a chef background having owned restaurants in surfer’s paradise, Jeffrey’s Bay, as well as one of the oldest and most frequented steakhouses in Rondebosch. She has hung up her chef jacket and the hospitality industry to join Atlantic Yachting and is enjoying the enthusiasm and passion of this amazing industry. Juanita has an amazing ability to make everyone feel welcome and a part of our Atlantic Yachting family.|
Janine Le Roux – Office Administrator
|Janine has lived in the Western Cape most of her life, born in Worcester which was the closest hospital to Robertson, and has worked in HR for many years. She is definitely a numbers person who excels in an organized structure, in an office environment. She has been visiting the West Coast for over 8 years, fell in love with this peaceful, beautiful part of the world and decided to move to the coast. In 2016 she joined Atlantic Yachting as our Office Administrator and has not looked back since. We are a TEAM at Atlantic Yachting and Janine has learnt so much about the sailing industry plus met so many students from all walks of life.|
ON THE WATER
Christie Joubert – RYA Yachtmaster Instructor/SAMSA Commercial endorsement + RYA PB II Instructor
|Christie completed his RYA sailing courses in 2009 and has been working in the boating industry on and off since 2012 when he started to spend more time in the industry and especially teaching. In December 2012 he was employed as the first mate on a 145ft Ketch during a major refit of about 7 months and afterwards sailing with the owner along the Spanish coast. In 2014 he helped deliver a Leopard 44 sailing catamaran from Cape Town, South Africa to Brisbane, Australia via the Panama canal from May 2014 until September 2014. Sailing about 2/3 around the world.Christie currently teaches in the classroom and on the water and enjoys both aspects of theory + practical.|
Andre Van Der Linde – RYA Yachtmaster Instructor/SAMSA Commercial endorsement + RYA PB II & RYA PWC Instructor
|Andre grew up in Langebaan and completed his schooling at Curro Langebaan. The ocean has always been a big part of Andre’s life. During his school holidays you would find Andre working in his families boat yard business. He was hands on and learnt a lot. He is very familiar with boats and is comfortable on them. Andre first completed his Day Skipper course while still at school. His passion and dream is kept alive as he is now a RYA Yachtmaster Instructor. Andre joined Atlantic Yachting in 2016 and is very much a part of our A – Team.|
Mike Ceruti – RYA PB II Instructor
|Mike matriculated from Benoni High School in 1981. He furthered his studies in Radio/Radar Electronics apprenticeship at Atlas Aircraft from 1982 – 1985 and became an Aviation Electronics Instructor in 1986 – 1988 at 5AD Waterloo Air force Base.Taking to the ocean again, he qualified as a NAUI Scuba Instructor in 1989 – 1992 in Jhb and dived Mozambique, Sodwana Bay, Durban, Malawi and Cape Town. He then took to the books again and studied Electronic Engineering from 1993 – 1997 at Oxford Medical in England. Since 1998 Mike has had is own dive business called Big Blue. He is passionate about diving and a water enthusiast in general whether it be sailing small dinghies, windsurfing, has completed the Duzi Canoe Marathon in 1988, is a SA Deep Sea Angling Powerboat Skipper – 1986, RYA Day Skipper in Southampton – 1994, SAMSA Skipper – 2014 & RYA Power Boat Instructor – 2016.Mike is well like amongst clients and staff – he is a great asset to Atlantic Yachting’s Team.|

Lesley Norris – RYA Cruising Instructor/SAMSA Commercial endorsement + Maintenance Manager
|Leslie has given up the corporate game and decided to dedicate his time to the high seas. Lesley’s interest for sailing first began in his early days in Zimbabwe, on dinghy’s. He then moved to the Coast were he completed his Competent Crew Course. Lesley joined us in 2007 and qualified as a Coastal Skipper, after which he headed off into the big blue on yacht deliveries. Once again, he joined us to complete his RYA Yachtmaster Offshore. Lesley has spent some time along our Coastal waters however he currently heads our maintenance department ensuring that our yachts are always in top notch working condition.|

ACTIVITIES IN THE AREA
The West Coast Mall is situated in Vredenburg, as well as movie theatres.
The West Coast National Park is only ten minutes drive from Langebaan. Also close to Langebaan is the Buffelsfontein Game and Nature Reserve and the Elandsfontein Private Nature Reserve.
Nature lovers can enjoy whale watching and bird watching, horse rides and visit the West Coast Fossil Park in the area.
Those who are culturally inclined, can visit !Khwa ttu the San Culture and Education Centre.
